FIFA U17 Women's World Cup: Flamingos To Face Korea Republic, Puerto Rico and Poland if ...

Nigeria women's national under-17 football team could face Korea Republic, Puerto Rico and Poland in Group B of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup if they successfully secure qualification for the tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

FIFA conducted the official draw for the competition on Thursday, with African qualification spots yet to be fully decided. Nigeria, listed as one of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) representatives pending qualification, is projected to occupy the Group B slot reserved for CAF 1. 

Should the Flamingos complete their qualification campaign successfully, they would compete in a group featuring South Korea, Puerto Rico and Poland in the opening round of the tournament.

The development has increased anticipation surrounding Nigeria’s qualification journey as the team seeks another appearance on the global stage in one of FIFA’s premier youth competitions.

The Flamingos remain one of Africa’s most consistent teams at youth level, having built a strong reputation through several impressive performances at previous editions of the tournament. Under the guidance of the Nigeria Football Federation, the side has continued to establish itself as a major force in women’s youth football.

Qualification would see Nigeria compete alongside some of the world’s top emerging talents at the tournament, which has become an important platform for the development of future stars in women’s football globally.
