Financial Blow for Al Ahly SC Players
Sampson Adedeji
Players of Al Ahly SC have been hit with a significant financial setback following recent disappointments on the pitch, with the club enforcing strict disciplinary measures, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The squad reportedly received their March salaries with a 30 percent deduction imposed as punishment for their early exits from both the CAF Champions League and the Egypt FA Cup.
In addition to the salary cuts, players have also been impacted by performance-related bonuses. A 25 percent bonus clause tied to winning the league title and the CAF Champions League has been significantly affected.
With their elimination from Africa’s premier club competition, the Red Devils have now lost the opportunity to secure a substantial portion of that incentive package.
The development marks a difficult period for the Cairo-based giants, as the consequences of their on-field struggles begin to take a toll financially, further compounding the pressure within the squad.
