Ex-Super Eagles Coach Finidi George
Finidi George Opposes Chelle's Dual Role As Super Eagles, U-23 Coach

Former Super Eagles Head Coach, Finidi George, has expressed his disagreement with the Nigeria Football Federation's (NFF) decision to appoint Eric Chelle as head coach of both the Super Eagles and the national U-23 team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Speaking on the development, Finidi argued that handling both teams simultaneously would place excessive demands on the Malian tactician and could ultimately become a distraction.
The former international maintained that the U-23 national team deserves a dedicated head coach who can focus entirely on its development, preparation, and qualification campaigns.
According to Finidi, managing the senior national team alone is a challenging responsibility, and combining it with the U-23 role could affect efficiency and performance at both levels.
The NFF recently handed Chelle the dual responsibility of overseeing the Super Eagles and the Olympic Eagles, a move that has generated mixed reactions among football stakeholders.
Finidi, who previously managed the Super Eagles on an interim basis, believes a separate coaching structure would be more beneficial for Nigerian football, particularly in nurturing young talents and ensuring adequate attention is given to the U-23 side.
