Flamingos To Arrive Nigeris On Friday After World Cup Elimination

The Nigeria U-17 Women’s National Team, the Flamingos, are scheduled to arrive back in the country on Friday following their exit from the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The team’s campaign came to an end after a 4–0 defeat to Italy in the Round of 16, marking the conclusion of their World Cup journey in Morocco.
An official of the team confirmed the travel plans, stating:
“As you already know, our FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup journey came to an end yesterday following a 4–0 loss to Italy in the Round of 16. In line with the itinerary, the Flamingos will depart Morocco in the early hours of Friday morning at 1:00 a.m. aboard Royal Air Maroc en route to Nigeria.
“Once again, thank you sincerely for the immense support throughout this campaign. We remain committed to coming back stronger next year and making the nation proud.”
Despite the early exit, the Flamingos have earned praise for their spirited performances and resilience throughout the tournament. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is expected to review the team’s performance as preparations begin for future competitions.
Flamingos played four games; lost three, won one, conceded nine goals and scored five.
