Flying Eagles' Pre-Tourment Unbeaten Streak Reaches 18 Matches

Nigeria's Flying Eagles were held to a 2-2 draw by Bauchi State-based Darazo FC in a friendly match played at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja as preparations continue for the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Earlier on Thursday, the seven-time African U-20 champions recorded an emphatic 8-0 victory in another warm-up game at the same venue before settling for a draw in the evening fixture.

The Flying Eagles have now played 18 friendly matches as part of their build-up to the WAFU B U-20 Championship, scheduled to take place in Côte d'Ivoire from July 26 to August 9, 2026. The team has won 15 of those matches and drawn three, remaining unbeaten throughout its preparations.

Coached by Abdu Maikaba, the Flying Eagles fought back after conceding the opening goal to level the score at 1-1 before halftime. Muiz Adeleke then completed his brace in the 65th minute to put Nigeria ahead, but Darazo FC equalised in the 78th minute to earn a share of the spoils.

The Flying Eagles are expected to depart for Côte d'Ivoire on July 20 as they await the official draw for the regional championship.
