The 2025 Her Game Women’s Football Tournament produced two gripping semi-final clashes on Thursday at the Area 3 Pitch, Abuja, with defending champions Fosla Academy and the impressive Horvel Angels sealing their places in Saturday’s grand finale.

Horvel Angels 2–0 Generation Next

Horvel Angels kicked off the day in style, earning a solid 2–0 victory over Generation Next.

Odide Lilian was the star of the match, scoring twice—first in the 47th minute and again in the 55th—to send her team into the final.

Her composed finishing and relentless attacking play proved the difference in an otherwise balanced encounter.

Fosla Academy 1–0 SIK Paragon

Fosla Academy continued their quest to retain the title with a hard-fought 1–0 win over SIK Paragon.

Forward Habila Patricia delivered the decisive moment, striking in the 44th minute to secure back-to-back final appearances for the champions.

Fosla showed tactical discipline and defensive strength throughout, keeping Paragon at bay in a tense, high-energy match also played at the Area 3 Pitch.

Goal-scorer Habila Patricia could not hide her joy after scoring the winner that propelled Fosla into the final.

 “I was so excited because I didn’t expect to score in this match,” she said. “The game was very hard, but I tried my best, and God helped me.

From the first game to now, it has not been easy.”

With Fosla set to face Hovel Prime again—the same team they defeated in their opening match—Patricia sounded confident:

 “It’s victory. I’m very sure we are going to win by the special grace of God.”

Fosla coach Christopher Igbuku expressed delight at his team’s consistency and growth through the tournament.

 “We take each game as it comes. After every match, we talk to the girls and step our game up,” he said. “That’s how we got to the final.”

He singled out Queen Joseph —who has represented Nigeria at U17 level—for her commanding defensive display:

“She really helped us cover the defence and played the ball out very well. One of those passes led to the goal we scored.”

Coach Igbuku acknowledged the quality of their opponents:

 “SIK Paragon are a very good side. If not for God and that one mistake, the game could have gone differently.”

On the final, he kept his response brief but focused:

 “I won’t say much… let the final come.”

The 2025 Her Game Women’s Football Tournament will conclude on Saturday, 6 December 2025, with both the third-place match and the grand finale set to be played at the Area 3 Pitch, Abuja.

Fosla Academy will be looking to defend their crown, while Horvel Angels aim to clinch their first-ever title in what promises to be a thrilling showdown.
