Premier League side Fulham are reportedly interested in securing the services of Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan ahead of the new season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Chukwueze, who spent the previous campaign on a season-long loan at Craven Cottage, impressed during his spell with Marco Silva's side, prompting Fulham to explore the possibility of making the move permanent.
However, the London club are seeking to negotiate a reduced transfer fee with AC Milan.
Fulham are reluctant to activate the previously agreed £26 million purchase option and are instead aiming to reach an agreement for a lower amount.
The 27-year-old Super Eagles midfielder remains under contract with the Serie A giants, but Fulham's continued interest suggests they view him as an important part of their plans for the upcoming campaign.
Negotiations between both clubs are expected to continue in the coming weeks as Fulham attempt to secure a deal that suits their financial expectations.
