Galatasaray Insist Osimhen Is Not for Sale Amid Interest from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid

Galatasaray have reiterated their determination to retain Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen despite increasing transfer interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

The Turkish champions have moved to quell speculation surrounding the Super Eagles forward, with club president Dursun Özbek insisting that Osimhen remains a key part of the club's long-term plans.

The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Istanbul in recent months, with Spanish powerhouses Barcelona and Atletico Madrid reportedly monitoring his situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

Since completing a permanent move from Napoli following an initial loan spell, Osimhen has established himself as one of Galatasaray's most influential players. His impressive performances have seen him score 59 goals in 74 appearances while playing a pivotal role in the club's success, including two Turkish Super Lig titles and a Turkish Cup triumph.

His prolific form has inevitably attracted attention from leading European clubs. However, Galatasaray have consistently maintained that the Nigerian international is not available for transfer.

According to reports in Turkey, Atletico Madrid recently had a €120 million offer turned down by the Istanbul-based club. Özbek has now reinforced the club's position, suggesting that Galatasaray have no intention of parting ways with the striker.

"We didn't buy Osimhen to sell him," Özbek was quoted as saying by Forza Cimbom.

"We have a player who adds tremendous value to Galatasaray and who loves this club very much. We want him to serve Galatasaray for many years. Osimhen is also very happy at Galatasaray."

The club's latest stance is likely to come as a setback for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, both of whom are reportedly exploring options to strengthen their attacking departments. Barcelona have been linked with Osimhen as they prepare for life beyond veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, while Atletico Madrid are believed to be seeking additional firepower in their frontline.

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has also previously dismissed reports suggesting that Osimhen could leave the club in the near future.

For now, the Nigerian forward appears fully focused on his career in Turkey, where he has become one of the most popular figures among the Galatasaray faithful and a central figure in the club's continued success.
