Enugu State Governor, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has announced a comprehensive reward package for players and management of Rangers International FC following the club’s successful 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title-winning campaign, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking during a reception held in honour of the league champions, Governor Mbah approved a total cash reward of ₦150 million for the club. Of the amount, ₦100 million will be shared among the players, while ₦50 million has been earmarked for members of the club’s management team in recognition of their contribution to the team's success.

In addition to the financial incentives, the governor also approved the allocation of plots of land in Enugu to all players and management staff, with each beneficiary to receive a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).

Governor Mbah further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sports development by assuring supporters and stakeholders that the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium will undergo significant upgrades ahead of Rangers’ participation in the CAF Champions League. The improvements are also expected to prepare the facility for the hosting of the Coal City Games 2026, Enugu State’s flagship sports festival.

The rewards package underscores the state government’s recognition of Rangers’ achievement and its determination to strengthen the club’s competitiveness on the continental stage.

Rangers International FC, popularly known as the Flying Antelopes, have enjoyed a remarkable season, emerging as champions of the NPFL and earning the right to represent Nigeria in next season’s CAF Champions League.

The announcement has been widely welcomed by fans and football stakeholders, who view the incentives as a strong statement of support for sports development and professional football in Enugu State.

The title victory further cements Rangers’ status as one of Nigeria’s most successful football clubs and marks another significant chapter in the rich football heritage of the Coal City.

The club’s qualification for the CAF Champions League presents an opportunity for Rangers to compete against Africa’s elite clubs and boost Enugu State’s profile on the continental stage.
