Governor Alia Restructures Lobi Stars FC, Vows Renewed Focus on Sports Development

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has approved the immediate dissolution of the Board and Management of the state-owned football club, Lobi Stars FC, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The move, according to the state government, is part of ongoing efforts to reposition the club for greater efficiency, accountability, and improved performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and other competitions.

A statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, mnipr, on Thursday, noted that all members of the dissolved management are to hand over official documents, assets, and responsibilities to the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Creativity with immediate effect.

Governor Alia expressed his appreciation to the outgoing board and management team for their services to both the club and the state, acknowledging their contributions during their tenure.

He further assured that a new management structure would soon be announced to lead Lobi Stars FC into a new phase of growth, professionalism, and competitiveness.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sports development as a cornerstone for youth engagement, talent discovery, and social cohesion, Governor Alia emphasized that reforms in the sports sector are key to realizing Benue State’s vision of nurturing excellence and building stronger communities through athletics.
