Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has revealed that the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) is among the leagues he would consider playing in before hanging up his boots, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Rangers forward, born in the Netherlands to Nigerian parents, has spent most of his professional career in Europe.
However, speaking to Sportsboom, he admitted he has an eye on a few “exotic” destinations for the twilight of his career.
“It’s a hard choice, but let me say a place like Japan, the United States, South Africa, or Nigeria. It would be nice to play there,” Dessers said.
On his immediate future, the 29-year-old confirmed he remains focused on Rangers despite transfer speculation.
“I still have two years left on my contract with Rangers. It’s a fantastic club, and I’m happy there,” he stated.
Addressing links to Olympiacos, he added: “When you score that number of goals, it’s normal for other teams to show interest. I’ve seen the rumours, but I don’t know anything specific about that. These kinds of talks are normal.”
