Injury Blow: Anthony Nwakaeme Sidelined For Two Months

Trabzonspor will be without Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme for approximately two months after he suffered a hamstring injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 36-year-old picked up the knock during Trabzonspor’s 1-0 victory over Kocaelispor on Monday night and was substituted in the 84th minute for Arif Bosluk.

He had started the game alongside fellow Nigerian, Paul Onuachu.

According to a statement on the club’s official website, medical examinations and an MRI scan revealed a tear, bleeding, and significant swelling in the posterior muscle and tendon of his left thigh.

The club confirmed that treatment has already commenced.

Onuachu, meanwhile, netted the decisive goal in what was a tightly contested match.
