Super Eagles pose for press before an international friendly game
International Friendly: Chelle To Unleash Super Eagles First Team On Portugal, Poland
Sampson Adedeji
Head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, has provided clarity on the calibre of players to be deployed for the upcoming international friendly matches in June, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Nigeria is scheduled to face Poland national football team and Portugal national football team in what are expected to be high-profile encounters, and the Malian tactician has confirmed that his first-team stars will be involved.
Chelle emphasized the importance of the fixtures, noting that they will play a crucial role in improving Nigeria’s standing in the global rankings.
“For the big warm-up games in June against Poland and Portugal, I will feature my first team players. These are games that can push up the global ranking if we win them,” Chelle stated.
The decision signals a shift from squad rotation often seen in friendly matches, underlining the strategic importance of the games as the Super Eagles aim to strengthen their position on the international stage.
The June fixtures are expected to provide a stern test for Nigeria, with both European sides regarded as strong opponents in world football.
