International Friendly: Venezuela Federation Contacts Brazil’s Tite For Super Eagles Clash

Ahead of the eagerly anticipated international friendly against Nigeria’s Super Eagles, the Venezuela Football Federation (FVF) is intensifying its search for a new head coach, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Venezuelan national team has been without a substantive manager since the conclusion of their South American World Cup qualifying campaign, leaving the FVF racing against time to secure a capable leader before the clash in Houston, United States.

Fresh reports from Caracas suggest that the FVF recently reached out to Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, known as Tite, to discuss the possibility of taking charge of the encounter.

Tite, who famously guided Brazil to the 2019 Copa América title and managed Flamengo in 2024, is said to be high on the federation’s list of preferred candidates.

Sources close to the discussions reveal that Tite’s experience with top-level international football makes him an attractive option, though negotiations are still at a preliminary stage.

The FVF is also believed to be considering other names as part of its contingency plans should talks with Tite not progress.

The upcoming friendly, scheduled for later this month in Houston, is expected to serve as an important test for both nations as they continue preparations for upcoming tournaments.

For Venezuela, securing a tactician of Tite’s calibre could provide much-needed stability and a morale boost ahead of the fixture.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles, meanwhile, will be looking to build on their recent run of good form as they gear up for a busy calendar that includes World Cup qualifying matches and continental competitions.

With time running short, the FVF is under pressure to finalise an appointment quickly, ensuring the national team has adequate direction before stepping onto the pitch against one of Africa’s most formidable sides.
