Nigeria’s women’s cricket team, the Female Yellow Greens, have returned home after an impressive outing at the Kwibuka T20 Women’s Tournament in Kigali, Rwanda, where they secured a third-place finish, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The team concluded the competition on a positive note, delivering strong performances throughout the tournament to claim a place on the podium among the participating nations.

Before their departure from Kigali, the Female Yellow Greens were warmly received by Nigeria’s Acting High Commissioner to Rwanda, Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna, at his residence.

The envoy commended the players and officials for their efforts and dedication in representing the country at the international event.

The Kwibuka T20 Women’s Tournament, held annually in Rwanda, serves as a platform to promote women’s cricket while commemorating the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Nigeria’s third-place finish further highlights the steady progress of women’s cricket in the country as the Female Yellow Greens continue their preparations for future continental and global competitions.
