Nigeria's Favour Ofili produced an outstanding performance to win the women's 200m event at the LA Grand Prix, securing her first victory over the distance in the 2026 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Despite battling a strong headwind of -3.1 m/s, Ofili powered to an impressive time of 22.45 seconds to claim a comfortable victory ahead of the rest of the field.

Gemima Joseph finished in second place with a time of 22.88 seconds, while fellow Nigerian Rosemary Chukwuma completed the podium positions, crossing the line in 22.94 seconds to take third place.

Ofili's dominant display under difficult conditions highlights her excellent form and provides a major boost as she continues her preparations for the remainder of the 2026 athletics season.
