Matchday 14 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership delivered an action-packed round of fixtures, with emphatic victories, late winners, and tightly contested draws shaping the race across the league, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
In Lagos, Dannaz Ladies produced one of the standout performances of the round, edging Delta Queens 5–3 in a thrilling eight-goal encounter. An early own goal set the tone before Zainab Raji doubled the advantage. Despite Delta Queens mounting a spirited comeback through Destiny Itobore and a brace from Oghenebrume Ikekhua, Dannaz held firm, with Ulumma Korie scoring twice and Solaty Fatimoh sealing the win late on.
In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons left it late to secure a narrow 1–0 victory over Remo Stars Ladies. Jumoke Alani converted an 88th-minute penalty to hand the hosts all three points in a tightly contested affair.
Rivers Angels delivered a commanding performance in Port Harcourt, defeating Adamawa Queens 3–0. Taiwo Ajibade starred with a first-half brace, while Grace Saliu added a third after the break to cap a dominant display.
Bayelsa Queens were equally impressive in Yenagoa, cruising to a 3–0 win over Ibom Angels. Second-half goals from Chiamaka Ezekwugo, Kindness Ifeanyi, and Chidi Harmony ensured a comfortable victory for the hosts.
In Ile-Ogbo, Osun Babes secured a slim 1–0 win against Confluence Queens, courtesy of Precious Paul’s first-half strike. Sunshine Queens also claimed a narrow 1–0 victory over Abia Angels in Akure, with Aishat Adebowale scoring the decisive goal early in the match.
Two fixtures ended in draws. Heartland Queens and Pacesetter Queens shared the spoils in a 1–1 encounter in Owerri, with goals from Faith Samson and Temitayo Aduamomi coming in quick succession. A similar scoreline was recorded in Aba, where Ahudiyannem Queens and FC Robo Queens played out a balanced contest.
Meanwhile, Ekiti Queens secured an important away victory in Abuja, coming from behind to defeat Naija Ratels 2–1. After Paulina Orshio gave the hosts the lead, second-half goals from Patience Yaro and Ismail Zaniab turned the game around.
Overall, the matchday was marked by dominant home performances from Rivers Angels, Bayelsa Queens, and Dannaz Ladies, while teams like Remo Stars Ladies, Delta Queens, and Abia Angels suffered setbacks.
