Several Super Eagles players have arrived in Cairo, Egypt, as Nigeria’s national team continues preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and an international friendly against the host nation, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Amas Obasogie, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Igho Ogbu, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Tochukwu Nnadi were the latest arrivals in camp on Monday, boosting the squad’s early build-up ahead of the continental showpiece.

They joined earlier arrivals Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who reported to camp on Sunday when the Super Eagles’ training base was officially opened. The latest arrivals bring the number of players in camp to ten.

The team’s Cairo camp opened on Sunday at the Renaissance Hotel, with members of the technical crew and backroom staff already fully assembled and overseeing preparations.

The training camp will also serve as a buildup to an international friendly against Egypt scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, at the Cairo International Stadium. Following the encounter, the Super Eagles are expected to depart on a chartered flight to Fes, Morocco, where they will be based for the group stage of the tournament.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group C of the 2025 AFCON alongside Tunisia, Tanzania and Uganda. With players reporting early to camp, the Super Eagles’ preparations point to a focused and determined start to their AFCON campaign.
