Lookman Suffers Minor Injury, Trains Separately From Atletico Madrid Squad

Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has been confirmed to have picked up a minor injury by his Spanish La Liga side Atlético Madrid, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The forward was substituted during the Copa del Rey Final against Real Sociedad on Saturday after showing signs of discomfort.

In an official statement, the club revealed that Lookman, alongside teammate Alexander Sørloth, ended the encounter with physical concerns.

“Ademola Lookman and Alexander Sørloth finished the Copa del Rey final with discomfort,” the statement read.

Following medical examinations, Atlético Madrid’s medical team advised caution, recommending that both players undergo individualized training away from the main squad to prevent further complications.

“The club’s medical staff have conducted tests that advise maximum caution to avoid the risk of injury, so they will follow an individualized plan in the coming days, training separately from the group,” the statement added.

Their return to full training will depend on how well they respond to recovery in the coming days.
