Majekodunmi Commends Beyond Limits, Stormers After Thrilling Ogun FA Cup Final

A member of the Executive Board of the Nigeria Football Federation and Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association, Ganiyu Majekodunmi, has praised Beyond Limits Football Academy and Stormers Sports Club for their impressive display in the final of the 2026 Ogun State FA Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The highly anticipated encounter, played on Saturday at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, delivered on its promise as Beyond Limits FA staged a comeback to secure a 2–1 victory over Stormers SC. The win marks their second FA Cup title in three years, following their triumph in 2024.
Both finalists have now qualified to represent Ogun State at the national stage of the President Federation Cup.
Speaking after the match, Majekodunmi commended the teams for their discipline, resilience, and overall quality of play, describing the final as a strong showcase for football development in the state.
“It was a thrilling final and a great advert for football in Ogun State. Both teams demonstrated discipline, determination, and quality, and fully deserved their place in the final. They gave the fans a memorable spectacle,” he said.
He also expressed satisfaction with the presence of the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Bukola Olopade, noting that it reflects the rising standard of football in the state.
“I am particularly delighted that the Director General of the National Sports Commission was present to witness the performance of both teams. It speaks volumes about the growing standard of our football,” he added.
Majekodunmi further urged both clubs to remain focused as they prepare for the national competition, emphasizing the need for discipline and commitment.
“I want to charge both teams to be worthy ambassadors of Ogun State at the national level. The competition will be more intense, so they must stay disciplined and committed,” he said.
Following the match, Olopade, alongside Majekodunmi and the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Youth Development, Tunde Delu, presented medals to players and officials, with the trophy awarded to Beyond Limits FA.
The final attracted a diverse crowd of spectators, highlighting the growing interest in grassroots football across Ogun State.
