Victor Osimhen coming down from hybrid Mercedes-Benz GLE
Mercedes-Benz Files Complaint As Osimhen Faces Legal Questions in Italy
By BSN Sports
Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly under police scrutiny in Italy following a complaint filed by legal representatives of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Italia over an alleged unpaid debt of approximately €90,000.
According to Il Napolista, the complaint was lodged at the Crescenzago Carabinieri station in Milan and relates to a 2023 leasing agreement signed by the Nigerian international for a hybrid Mercedes GLE.
The German automotive firm claims the 27-year-old failed to meet the agreed monthly instalments during his time at SSC Napoli, where he played a key role in the club’s 2022/23 Serie A title-winning campaign. The situation is said to have escalated after the player allegedly did not return the vehicle following the expiration of the lease agreement.
Italian authorities are now reported to have opened preliminary inquiries into possible appropriazione indebita (embezzlement), a development that could shift the matter from a civil dispute to a criminal case.
The reported debt stands in contrast to Osimhen’s well-documented taste for high-end automobiles. Since his move to Galatasaray S.K., the forward has been associated with luxury vehicles, including a Lamborghini Revuelto valued at over €500,000. His collection is also said to include a Lamborghini Urus and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
As proceedings continue, Mercedes-Benz’s legal representatives are expected to formally engage with the player’s camp to obtain his response before determining the next legal steps.
