Super Eagles winger Moses Simon could be set for a new chapter at Paris FC, with Liam Rosenior reportedly closing in on the Ligue 1 club's managerial position ahead of the 2026/27 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports from RMC Sport and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between Rosenior and Paris FC are at an advanced stage. The 41-year-old is expected to sign a two-year contract to replace Antoine Kombouaré, whose departure was confirmed after the expiration of his deal.

Kombouaré took charge of Paris FC in February 2026 and successfully guided the newly promoted side to Ligue 1 safety, securing an 11th-place finish. However, discussions over a contract extension reportedly ended without an agreement, with differences over salary and contractual terms bringing negotiations to a close.

Backed by the Arnault family and Red Bull, Paris FC's ownership is believed to be targeting a younger coach capable of driving the club's long-term ambitions and establishing it as a competitive force in the French top flight.

For Rosenior, the move would mark a quick return to management following the end of his spell at Chelsea in April 2026. The former defender enhanced his coaching reputation during an impressive 18-month stint at Strasbourg, where he guided the club to a seventh-place Ligue 1 finish and qualification for European competition.

His expected appointment could also have a significant impact on Simon, who joined Paris FC in the summer of 2025 after ending his long stay at Nantes. The Nigerian international previously played under Kombouaré at Nantes before reuniting with the experienced coach in the French capital.

While Kombouaré's exit signals the end of a familiar partnership, Rosenior's arrival could present fresh opportunities for Simon. During his time at Strasbourg, Rosenior openly praised the Super Eagles winger, describing him as one of Ligue 1's most dangerous attacking players.

Simon has consistently established himself among the league's standout wide players, earning recognition for his pace, dribbling ability and creativity in the final third. His direct running, ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations and quality deliveries from wide areas have made him a vital player for both Paris FC and Nigeria.

Rosenior's tactical philosophy, built around possession-based football, high pressing and quick attacks through the flanks, appears well suited to Simon's strengths.
