NOC, NVBF Set To to Host IOC/FIVB Beach Volleyball Technical Coaches Course in Abuja

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), in close collaboration with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), is pleased to announce that it is set to co-host a five-day International Olympic Committee (IOC)/FIVB Beach Volleyball Technical Coaches Course.
This critical development programme is an initiative of the IOC's global educational programmes, implemented through Olympic Solidarity, in partnership with the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB).
The course is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, November 4, and conclude on Saturday, November 8, 2025. It will be held at the High-Performance Centre, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium complex, Abuja.
The course is designed to enhance the skills of at least 25 Beach Volleyball coaches from across the nation, ensuring they are equipped with world-class coaching standards.
The programme will be conducted by Mr Francisco Javier Bosma Mínguez, an experienced international expert appointed by the FIVB. Mr Bosma, who hails from Madrid, Spain.
Miniguez is a highly decorated former beach volleyball player, notably winning a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
His experience at the elite level will provide participants with invaluable insights into modern beach volleyball.
The intensive course is designed to allow coaches to gain in-depth knowledge of advanced techniques, tactics, and strategies, focusing on key areas:
*Beach Volleyball Techniques and Strategies
* Tactical Awareness
* Coaching Methodology
* Sports Science and Conditioning
These focus areas will provide coaches with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary beach volleyball coaching, enabling them to significantly develop their skills and improve player performance at both the national and international levels.
The NOC reaffirms its commitment to developing sports in Nigeria.
This IOC/FIVB course is a crucial component of our ongoing efforts to enhance coaching quality, align with international best practices, and foster the overall growth of beach volleyball in the country.
