Matchday action in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) wrapped up on Monday with decisive outcomes in Jos and Umuahia, as Plateau United delivered a commanding performance while Abia Warriors secured a narrow home victory, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United cruised to a resounding 4-1 win over Ikorodu City in a dominant display that underlined their attacking strength.
After a goalless first half, Kazeem Adeyanju broke the deadlock in the 50th minute to set the tone for the hosts.
Ossy Martins then took center stage, netting twice in the 72nd and 88th minutes to put the game beyond doubt.
Ikorodu City managed a consolation goal through Moses Ali in the 80th minute, but it proved insufficient as Victor Dawa added a late fourth in stoppage time to seal an emphatic victory for Plateau United.
In Umuahia, Abia Warriors claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win against Bayelsa United.
The decisive moment came in the 58th minute when Emeka Obioma found the back of the net, ensuring maximum points for the hosts in a tightly contested encounter.
The results further shake up the NPFL standings as teams continue to battle for position heading into the closing stages of the season.
