Bayelsa United management has issued a two-match ultimatum to the team’s coaches and players following a string of poor results in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Club chairman, Dr. Tarilaye Nwankwe, delivered the warning during an emergency meeting with the squad and technical crew at the team’s camp in Yenagoa.

According to Nwankwe, the ultimatum begins with this weekend’s away fixture against Warri Wolves in Ozoro, followed by a home clash against Plateau United on October 31, 2025.

He stressed that the management would no longer tolerate the team’s disappointing performances.

He explained that the decision was necessitated by the team’s poor run of form, particularly last Sunday’s uninspiring display against newly-promoted Kun Khalifat.

“The Bayelsa State Government has invested heavily in this club, but the results have been far from satisfactory".

"The players and coaches must ensure that the team’s performance reflects this investment, starting from this weekend,” Nwankwe said.

He added that the move was not intended as a witch-hunt but rather a sincere effort to ensure everyone at the club aligns with the management’s vision of making Bayelsa United one of Nigeria’s top football teams.
