NPFL: Finidi Applauds Rivers United Players After El-Kanemi Stalemate

Rivers United Technical Adviser, Finidi George, has praised his players following their hard-fought goalless draw against El-Kanemi Warriors in Sunday’s NPFL Matchday 3 clash at the El-Kanemi Stadium, Maiduguri, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers put up a resilient display, especially in the second half, to secure a valuable point on the road and extend their unbeaten run in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season to three games.

“Overall, I think we’re quite happy with the result,” said Finidi, the former Super Eagles winger and coach.

“The first half was 50-50. In the second half, particularly in the last 25 minutes, they pushed us back, and we had to defend while looking for counter opportunities. They were faster to the ball and kept the pressure on, but I’m pleased we held our ground to get a point.”

Rivers United now sit on five points from three matches, with one win and two draws.
