NPFL: Governor Dissolves Bayelsa United Board, Coaching Crew Over Poor Results

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has dissolved the board and coaching crew of Bayelsa United Football Club following the team's disappointing performances, BSNSports.com.ng reports

The decision was announced on Wednesday ahead of the State Executive Council meeting held in Yenagoa.

Governor Diri expressed dissatisfaction with the club's recent results, stressing that the move was aimed at repositioning the Prosperity Boys for improved performances and future success.

According to the governor, an interim management committee will be constituted to oversee the affairs of the club. 

The committee has been tasked with restructuring the team and ensuring Bayelsa United secures an immediate return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season.

The dissolution of the board and technical crew underscores the Bayelsa State Government's commitment to reviving the fortunes of the club and restoring its status among Nigeria's elite football teams.
