NPFL: Kwara United Stun Katsina United, Rangers Thrash Remo Stars In Enugu

It was a day of surprising results across the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) as several teams delivered impressive performances on Matchday 29, with Kwara United recording a shock away victory over Katsina United and Rangers International humiliating league leaders Remo Stars in Enugu, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The biggest upset of the day came at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium where Kwara United defeated the hosts Katsina United 2–1 to secure a valuable three points on the road.

In Enugu, Rangers International produced one of their most dominant displays of the season, thrashing Remo Stars 4–1. 

Kenneth Igboke opened the scoring as early as the 4th minute before Chidozie Iwundu doubled the lead in the 8th minute. 

Franck Kingue pulled one back for Remo Stars in first-half stoppage time, but Wisdom Ebirim restored Rangers’ two-goal cushion in the 62nd minute. Igboke then completed his brace deep into stoppage time to seal an emphatic victory.

At Umuahia, Abia Warriors defeated Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) 2–0 thanks to a brace from Emeka Obioma, who struck in the 18th and 55th minutes.

Former champions Rivers United also secured a convincing 3–1 victory against Bendel Insurance.

Nasarawa United edged Ikorodu City 1–0 with Bright Amadi netting the decisive goal in the 83rd minute.

Plateau United were in rampant form as they hammered Niger Tornadoes 3–0. 

Temitope Vincent opened the scoring in the 7th minute, Isaiah Sunday added the second in the 38th minute, while Nenrot Silas completed the rout in stoppage time.

At Akure, Sunshine Stars (Wolves) defeated Enyimba 2–1. Qudus Olayinola converted a penalty in the 71st minute before Latti Yusuf doubled the lead five minutes later. Chidera Michael pulled one back for Enyimba with a late penalty.

Elsewhere, Khalifat FC defeated Bayelsa United 1–0 courtesy of Uchechukwu Onuoha’s 45th-minute strike.

In Kano, veteran forward Ahmed Musa scored the only goal in the 57th minute to give Kano Pillars a 1–0 victory over Barau FC.

The results further intensify the race for the title and the battle to avoid relegation as the NPFL season approaches its decisive stages.
