NPFL Review: Abia Warriors Shock Pillars, As Barau Hold Enyimba In Aba

Matchday 21 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) delivered excitement across various centres, with Abia Warriors recording a stunning away victory over Kano Pillars, while Barau FC held Enyimba International to a goalless draw in Aba, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Abia Warriors defied expectations to secure a vital away win against Kano Pillars, further underlining their impressive run in the ongoing campaign.
The result marked one of the standout performances of the weekend and dealt a blow to the hosts’ push up the table.
In Aba, nine-time champions Enyimba International were frustrated by a resilient Barau FC, as both sides settled for a 0-0 draw at the Enyimba International Stadium.
Despite dominating spells of possession, the People’s Elephant were unable to find a breakthrough against a disciplined Barau defence.
Elsewhere, Rivers United edged Remo Stars 1-0, with Aniekeme Okon scoring the decisive goal in the 81st minute.
Ikorodu City also claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Kwara United, thanks to an early strike from Ezekiel Samuel in the 5th minute.
Plateau United continued their solid home form with a 1-0 win against Wikki Tourists, as Temitope Vincent found the net in the 52nd minute.
Bayelsa United produced a commanding display to defeat Shooting Stars (3SC) 2-0, with goals from Peter Ebimobowei in the 24th minute and Chinedu Emmanuel deep into stoppage time.
Nasarawa United secured a 2-1 victory over Niger Tornadoes, with Anas Yusuf converting a penalty in the 13th minute and Segun Adekunle adding a second in the 22nd, before Kufre Ebong pulled one back late on.
Bendel Insurance also thrilled their fans with a hard-fought 3-2 win over El-Kanemi Warriors.
The results from Matchday 21 have further tightened the race across the NPFL table, setting the stage for more drama as the season progresses.
