NPFL Review: Rivers United Return To Summit as Kwara United Earn Point In Ibadan

Rivers United have climbed back to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Plateau United on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Wisdom Samuel’s early strike in the 11th minute proved decisive, as Rivers United secured maximum points to boost their title ambitions.

In Ibadan, Kwara United held Shooting Stars to a goalless draw, earning a valuable away point in a tightly contested encounter.

Elsewhere, Barau FC edged Remo Stars 2-1, with Joseph Atule and Joseph Kemin scoring late goals after Haruna Hadi had given Remo Stars the lead.

Ikorodu City recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over Kano Pillars, thanks to goals from Joseph Arumala, Tosin Oyedokun, and Abayomi Ayodeji.

Nine-time champions Enyimba also delivered a dominant performance, defeating Katsina United 3-0. Stanley Dimgba, Chidera Michael, and Wonah Williams were all on target.

Kun Khalifat continued their impressive run with a 3-0 victory over Warri Wolves, as Mnesoma Nnorom and Uchechukwu Onuoha (brace) sealed the win.

Meanwhile, Wikki Tourists secured a narrow 1-0 away victory against Bayelsa United, with Imamu Bala scoring the decisive goal in the 67th minute.

The latest round of fixtures has further intensified the race for the NPFL title, with Rivers United now setting the pace at the summit.
