NVBF Confirms July Dates For African Nations Cup Beach Volleyball Tournament

Nigeria will host the 2026 African Nations Cup Beach Volleyball Zone 3 Qualifiers for men and women from July 3 to July 7 in Badagry, Lagos State, the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has announced, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The championship, sanctioned by the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), is expected to attract some of West Africa’s finest beach volleyball athletes in a competition designed to promote excellence, regional cooperation, and qualification for continental events.

Participating countries are expected to include Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Benin Republic, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Niger Republic, and Liberia.

The tournament represents another milestone in Nigeria’s growing profile as a host of major volleyball competitions and underscores the NVBF’s commitment to the development and promotion of beach volleyball both domestically and across Africa.

Badagry, renowned for its picturesque coastline and rich cultural heritage, has been selected as the host city and is expected to provide an ideal setting for the championship. Organisers believe the venue will offer athletes, officials, and spectators a memorable sporting experience.

Beyond the competition itself, the tournament is expected to contribute significantly to the growth of beach volleyball in the Zone 3 region by providing increased exposure, fostering healthy rivalry, and strengthening collaboration among participating nations.

Under the leadership of President Engr. Musa Nimrod, the Nigeria Volleyball Federation has continued to create opportunities for athletes to compete at the highest levels while reinforcing Nigeria’s status as a leading force in African volleyball.

The federation said further information regarding match schedules, accreditation procedures, team arrivals, and other tournament activities will be released in the coming weeks.

The NVBF has also called on volleyball enthusiasts, sports stakeholders, media organisations, corporate partners, and the general public to support the championship as Nigeria prepares to welcome teams from across the region for the prestigious competition.
