NVBF Strengthens Technical Programme with Appointment of Japanese Coach

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) is set to officially unveil Japanese coach Ryan Masajedi as the new head coach of Nigeria's national volleyball teams during a ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2026, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The event will take place at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, beginning at 10:00 a.m., and is expected to attract key stakeholders from across the country's sporting community.
According to the federation, Masajedi's appointment represents a major step in its efforts to strengthen the technical development of volleyball in Nigeria and enhance the competitiveness of the national teams at both continental and international levels.
The Japanese tactician is expected to introduce a coaching philosophy centred on technical discipline, tactical innovation and high-performance standards, while drawing on his international experience to support the growth of Nigerian volleyball.
The federation believes the appointment will provide a solid technical foundation as the national teams prepare for major competitions, including the forthcoming African Nations Cup.
