NWFL: Nasarawa Amazons Return To Super Six, Abia Angels Debut

By Niyi Busari

Nasarawa Amazons and Abia Angels have secured qualification for the NWFL Premiership Super Six, both achieving the feat with a game remaining in the regular season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nasarawa Amazons, runners-up in the previous campaign, confirmed their place after a hard-fought 2–1 comeback victory over Sunshine Queens in Lafia. The hosts fell behind early in the encounter but responded decisively, with Bibiana Odoh scoring twice in quick succession to turn the game around and seal all three points.

The result underscores the Amazons’ resilience and experience as they return to the Super Six, where they will aim to mount another strong title challenge.

Meanwhile, Abia Angels have reached the Super Six for the first time in their history, marking a significant milestone for the club. Their qualification comes after narrowly missing out last season, when they fell short in the race for a place among the top teams.

This time, however, Abia Angels demonstrated consistency and determination throughout the campaign to secure their spot among the league’s elite with a game to spare.

Both teams will now shift focus to the Super Six, where the NWFL Premiership title will be decided.
