NWFL Round-Up: Robo Queens Shine As Several Matches End in Stalemates

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership served up an entertaining round of fixtures on Matchday Four, with emphatic victories, hard-fought draws and standout individual performances across several centres, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In Lagos, Robo Queens produced a dominant display to defeat Dannaz Ladies 5–1. Kemi Adegbuyi and Tosin Rafiu struck early to give Robo Queens a commanding lead before Augusta Chukwuma pulled one back for Dannaz Ladies in the 26th minute. Opeyemi Ajakaiye then took control of the contest with a brace, before Robiat Yusuf sealed the emphatic victory late on.

At the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Naija Ratels let a two-goal advantage slip as Heartland Queens fought back to earn a 2–2 draw. Onu Markwell and Paulina Orshio gave the hosts a comfortable first-half cushion, but second-half goals from Emmanuella James and Faith Samson rescued a point for the visitors.

In Ile-Ogbo, Osun Babes and Remo Stars Ladies played out a goalless draw in a tightly contested encounter that saw both sides cancel each other out.

Edo Queens continued their strong start to the season with a 2–0 home victory over Adamawa Queens in Benin City. Chioma Moses opened the scoring from the penalty spot just before halftime, while Atume Doosuur added a second goal in the 75th minute to secure all three points.

Rivers Angels edged Ibom Angels 1–0 in Port Harcourt, courtesy of a 55th-minute strike from Ramotalahi Kareem, while Bayelsa Queens recorded a comfortable 2–0 win over Pacesetters Queens in Yenagoa. Blessing Ilivieda converted a 17th-minute penalty before Aminat Folorunsho doubled the lead shortly before the break.

In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons and Abia Angels were unable to find a breakthrough, settling for a 0–0 draw. The same scoreline was recorded in Umuahia, where Ahudiyannem Queens and Sunshine Queens shared the spoils after a closely fought contest.

Delta Queens rounded off the matchday action in Asaba with a 3–1 victory over Confluence Queens. Destiny Itobore gave the hosts an early lead, before Seember Emmanuel levelled for Confluence Queens just after the hour mark. However, late goals from Tsebee Rita Seember and Amarachukwu Onuorah sealed the win for Delta Queens.
