OGC Nice players took to the pitch wearing jerseys printed with the names “Moffi” and “Boga” in a powerful show of solidarity during their latest match, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The emotional gesture followed the serious incidents that occurred last Sunday in Nice, where both Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga were reportedly victims of assault.

The pair have since filed official complaints and have been placed on sick leave as investigations continue.

The match was played in a highly tense atmosphere, with the visiting Eagles welcomed into the stadium by loud boos from sections of the crowd.

Although officials announced an attendance of 17,500 spectators, the figure included season ticket holders, many of whom reportedly boycotted the match in protest.

The incident has sparked widespread concern across French football, with calls growing for improved safety protections for players.
