Nigeria champions Edo Queens have arrived in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, ahead of the WAFU B qualifying tournament for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

A contingent of 21 players and 12 officials departed Lagos on Thursday, travelling through Lomé, Togo, before completing the final leg of their journey to Burkina Faso, where the qualifying tournament will be staged.

Edo Queens, popularly known as the Ada Bendel, have been drawn in Group A alongside Ghanaian side Ampem Darkoa Ladies, ASFC Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire and Niger’s AS Garde Nationale.

The Nigerian champions will compete without substantive head coach Moses Aduku, who is currently with Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, on international duty.

In his absence, Bendel Insurance manager Kennedy Boboye will provide the technical leadership for the Edo-based side during the competition.

Edo Queens will be counting on several key players, including Mose Chioma, Atume Doosuur, Vera Doris and Uroko Valentina, as they seek to secure a place in the continent’s premier women’s club competition.

The WAFU B qualifying tournament is scheduled to run from August 23 to September 5, 2026, with the eventual winners earning qualification for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
