Nigeria Dominates U18/U20 CAA Region 2 Championships In Dakar

Nigeria's young athletes delivered an impressive performance at the U18/U20 CAA Region 2 Championships in Dakar, Senegal, securing multiple gold medals and personal bests across several events, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Rosemary Chigozie Nwankwo and Lucy Chiamaka Nwankwo led the country's sprint success by winning the women's 100m titles in their respective categories.

Rosemary claimed gold in the U18 girls' 100m with a new personal best of 11.35 seconds, while Lucy also produced a personal best of 11.41 seconds to win the U20 women's 100m title.

In the men's U20 100m final, Tejiri Godwin continued Nigeria's dominance by storming to gold in a time of 10.35 seconds.

Nigeria also enjoyed a one-two finish in the U18 girls' 400m as Faith Ezechukwu claimed the gold medal, while Jecinta Lawrence secured silver to complete an outstanding outing for Team Nigeria.

The strong performances underline Nigeria's growing depth in youth athletics as the country's emerging stars continue to make their mark on the continental stage.
