Nigeria Outclass Libya To Book U-18 African Championship Semi-Final Spot

Nigeria's U-18 boys' volleyball team secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2026 African U-18 Boys Volleyball Championship after a commanding 3-0 victory over Libya in the quarter-finals.

The Nigerians produced a dominant performance at the Pioneer Club in Alexandria, Egypt, claiming a straight-sets win of 25-8, 25-14, 25-16 to continue their impressive run in the competition.

Nigeria asserted control from the opening whistle, overwhelming Libya with aggressive attacking play, disciplined defending, and consistent serving to race through the opening set. The West Africans maintained their momentum in the second and third sets, leaving their opponents with few opportunities to mount a comeback.

The convincing victory sends Nigeria into the last four, where they will face Cameroon for a place in the final of the continental championship.

The 2026 African U-18 Boys Volleyball Championship, organised by the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB), concludes on 30 July and features 14 national teams competing for continental honours.
