Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will take on Niger Republic in the semifinal of the 2025 WAFU B U20 Boys Championship, with a place in the final, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, July 20, at 4:00 p.m. (Nigerian time) at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Ghana. Fans can watch the game live via the Ghana Football Association’s official YouTube channel.

This fixture marks a repeat of last year’s semifinal, where Nigeria outclassed Niger 3–1 to secure a ticket to the U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Flying Eagles also knocked out Niger in the quarterfinals of the 2019 U20 AFCON, which doubled as a qualifier for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland.

Road to the Semifinals

Nigeria emerged top of Group A with four points from two matches in a three-team group that included Ghana and Benin Republic. Aliyu Zubairu team opened their campaign with a 1–1 draw against Ghana after coming from behind, then delivered a dominant 4–1 comeback win over Benin Republic in their second outing.

Although Ghana defeated Benin 1–0 in the final group match, Nigeria’s superior goal difference ensured they finished as group winners.

Niger advanced from Group B as runners-up, also collecting four points but from three games. They edged Togo 1–0 in their opener, lost narrowly to Ivory Coast 1–0, and then secured the crucial point they needed with a goalless draw against Burkina Faso.
