Nigeria women's teams shine at 2025 CAVB U18 beach volleyball C'ship

Nigeria's girls' team stole the spotlight on Day 2 of the 2025 CAVB Beach Volleyball U18 Continental Championship, delivering a string of dominant performances on Monday, August 4.

Nigeria I, Nigeria II, and Nigeria III, secured commanding straight-set victories, signaling their intent to contend for the championship title.

Nigeria I, led by a well-coordinated duo, overwhelmed Algeria II with a clinical 2-0 win (21-13, 21-9), controlling the tempo from the first serve. 

Nigeria II made quick work of Burundi II, winning 21-12, 21-14 in a match that showcased their aggressive service game and smart court positioning, while Nigeria III powered past Gambia, dominating both sets 21-11 and 21-14 to round off a perfect day for the host nation.

Nigeria coach, Kayode Ajilore said that the girl's team are determined to finish on the podium.

"We are currently topping the table of our pool in this competition and the girls are determined to make the country proud at the end of the tournament.

"We have one last pool match to play against Cote d'Ivoire tomorrow, and we are confident that we will do our best to win the match.

Elsewhere, Egypt I continued their strong run, taking down Morocco II 2-0 (21-18, 21-17) in a closely contested encounter that featured long rallies and sharp attacks from both sides. Egypt II defeated the same Morocco I 2-0 (21-18, 21-17), confirming their place as a top contender.

Senegal edged out Morocco II in a thrilling three-set battle. After dropping the first set 21-12, the Senegalese team rallied back to win the next two (15-21, 7-15), securing a well-fought 2-1 victory.

In other matches, Burundi I triumphed over Ivory Coast in another three-setter (21-16, 16-21, 15-7), while Morocco I steamrolled Benin Republic I with a dominant 2-0 result (21-6, 21-5). Gambia I also impressed with a clean sweep over Zambia I (21-8, 21-7).
