Nigeria international and Sekhukhune United striker Chibuike Ohizu has been suspended by the South African club, sparking speculation that he could be on his way out before the transfer window closes, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The suspension comes as a surprise, considering the 28-year-old signed a fresh two-year contract extension at the end of last season, tying him to the Limpopo-based side until June 2027.
According to iDiski Times, the reasons behind the club’s disciplinary action remain undisclosed.
Despite his renewal, Ohizu’s future at Babina Noko now appears uncertain.
He has made six appearances across all competitions this season but was left out of the squad in Sekhukhune’s recent 2-0 league win over Durban City at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Ohizu, who joined Sekhukhune in 2020 from Jomo Cosmos, has been a consistent performer for the club, scoring 30 goals and providing three assists in 117 appearances.
