Nigerian Prodigy Joins Libyan Side
Ibrahim Lateef
Asswehly Sports Club has officially secured the signing of 36 Lion product Otto John on a two-year contract, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Over the last two seasons, the forward has shown remarkable performance for Turan Tovuz in the Azerbaijani top division.
His outstanding displays garnered attention from various North African teams, including Ahly Benghazi, Etoile du Sahel, Esperance, and Zamalek, but it was the Martyrs Brigades who finalized his acquisition.
Otto is joining the Libyan team to seek new opportunities overseas. The agreement is said to be valued at $3 million.
This signing is viewed as a strategic move to enhance Asswehly's attacking options.
In response to the transfer, 36 Lion adviser Hajji Gafar stated: "Our smiles to the bank will continue as we conduct football business in strict adherence to its foundational principles."
"This signifies the beginning of a long-term collaboration with our Libyan partners. The development and progress of Football Investment in Libya is rapidly gaining momentum."
"We are thankful for brothers like Ibrahim Dbiba, Cem Sagar, Walid Abdellah, Olajide Olaitan, and Majdi Aborawi for their positivity and steadfast belief in Nigeria," he added.
The 27-year-old forward has previously played for Skënderbeu Korçe, Trepça '89, Prishtina, and Dukagjini.
