Players and technical crew of Pyramids FC are set to face internal sanctions following their 1-1 draw against Al Masry SC in a league encounter on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Reports emerging after the game indicate that the club’s management has decided to impose salary deductions on the squad as part of disciplinary measures for failing to secure maximum points.

The situation was further compounded by the conduct of midfielder Hamed Hamdan, who has also been fined internally after receiving a red card in the closing stages of the encounter. His dismissal left the team at a disadvantage as they pushed for a late winner.

This development mirrors a similar action previously taken against players of Al Ahly SC, who were sanctioned after falling short in a crucial CAF Champions League fixture.

With such measures now being repeatedly enforced, the trend of penalizing players for dropped points appears to be gaining ground in Egyptian football, raising questions about its long-term impact on player morale and performance.
