Obasa Games 2025 Will Create Opportunities For Talented Youths- Vinod Obasa

The Chairman of the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) for the Obasa Games 2025, Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, highlighted the transformative potential of this multi-sport event in empowering and providing meaningful opportunities for talented young athletes, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

During the grand opening of the Obasa Games 2025 at Anwar-Islam Model College, Oniwaya, Dopemu-Agege, Vinod Obasa emphasized, "The core mission of the Obasa Games is to harness and uplift the talent of our youth. Over the next month, we will engage them in a vibrant sporting environment, enabling them to not only enjoy sports but also actively participate and pave their way towards future success."

 "Since its inception in 2023, the Obasa Games has quickly established itself as one of Lagos State’s leading grassroots sporting platforms, serving as a dynamic space where youthful enthusiasm meets discipline, teamwork, and a steadfast pursuit of excellence."

"This year holds particular importance as it brings together over 10,000 participants from all Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas throughout Lagos State, competing in seven exhilarating sports: Football, Boxing, Table Tennis, Chess, Scrabble, Ayo Olopon, and Athletics."

"Our theme, 'From the Streets to Stardom', truly reflects our belief that greatness can emerge from the most modest beginnings. This theme pays homage to the untapped potential that exists throughout Lagos, poised to shine when given the right opportunities."

"With ₦12 million in prizes available across the seven sports events, the Obasa Games create a vital pathway from ambition to accomplishment.

"In our previous edition, a remarkable athlete from the table tennis event had the honour of representing Nigeria at the African Table Tennis Championships, while players from the football segment successfully advanced to Europe to pursue their careers."

The Agege Local Government Area boss further expressed sincere gratitude towards the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly for their steadfast support of this multi-sport initiative.
