Burnley Football Club has confirmed that Head of Women's Football, Lola Ogunbote, will leave her position at the end of June after tendering her resignation, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ogunbote, who joined the club in 2021, has played a key role in the development and growth of Burnley's women's football programme during her tenure.

Over the past five years, she has overseen significant progress across several areas of the club, including recruitment, player development, performance structures, and overall football operations. 

Her leadership helped establish a clear football strategy that contributed to the team's success both on and off the pitch.

One of the highlights of her time at the club was guiding Burnley Women to promotion from the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division, marking a major achievement in the club's recent history.

Burnley thanked Ogunbote for her dedication and contribution to the women's programme and wished her success in the next chapter of her career.

Her departure brings an end to a transformative era for Burnley Women's Football, with the club now set to begin the search for her successor.
