Super Eagles and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has expressed his joy and relief after returning to action for the Italian Serie A side, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigeria international made his return to the pitch two weeks ago against Cremonese and featured again on Wednesday night, marking his third appearance of the season in Udinese’s 3-1 defeat to Juventus.
Okoye, who had been sidelined for some time, admitted that being away from the game was a tough experience.
“I’ve been out for a while, and it’s always difficult to be without football, but the goalkeeping coaches and the players have always helped me,” Okoye told the club’s official website.
The 26-year-old shot-stopper added that he feels stronger and more motivated than ever as he looks to reclaim a consistent starting role for the Zebras.
“I feel good, I’m happy, I want to grow, and I learn every day,” he added.
Okoye will be hoping to maintain his form and fitness as he looks forward to helping Udinese climb up the Serie A table and cement his place in the Super Eagles squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup playoffs.
