Osimhen, Simon, Six Others Absent As Super Eagles Train Ahead Of Egypt Friendly

A total of 20 players took part in the session, with Osimhen, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Muhammed Usman, Salim Fago, Ryan Alebiosu, Raphael Onyedika and Chidozie Awaziem missing from the workout, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Nigeria are scheduled to face the Pharaohs of Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. local time, as both teams continue preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The friendly is expected to provide head coach Eric Chelle with an opportunity to assess new invitees and fine-tune his squad ahead of the continental tournament.
Monday’s training session, which also commenced at 8:00 p.m., was supervised by Chelle and his technical crew. All three goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali, Francis Uzoho and Amas Obasogie were present, although first-choice goalkeeper Nwabali did not participate fully due to a wrist injury.
The session focused on tactical drills aimed at preparing both potential starters and substitutes for the encounter with Egypt.
Players involved in the training included Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igho Ogbu, Tochukwu Nnadi, Zaidu Sanusi, Paul Onuachu, Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi.
Others in attendance were Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Cyril Dessers, Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke.
After the training session, Raphael Onyedika and Ryan Alebiosu arrived in camp, increasing the total number of players available to 22 ahead of the friendly.
