Patrick Vieira Agrees Four-Year Deal With Senegal

Former France international Patrick Vieira has reportedly reached an agreement with the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) to become the new head coach of the Teranga Lions, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

According to Malang Sané, Vieira has agreed to a four-year contract with the Senegalese federation as part of an ambitious long-term project dubbed “Patrick Vieira Vision 2030.”

The agreement reportedly includes a monthly salary of between 35 million and 45 million CFA francs, which is approximately $61,600 to $79,200 per month.

The reported deal comes after Vieira presented his vision for Senegal's national team, with federation officials said to have been impressed by his plans and ambitions.

Previous reports have also indicated that Vieira has been in Senegal since late July and held discussions with federation officials.

Under the reported agreement, Vieira's primary target will be to guide Senegal to the final of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). 

He will also be tasked with securing Senegal's qualification for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, forming part of the federation's broader long-term development strategy.

The proposed “Patrick Vieira Vision 2030” project is expected to focus on building a competitive Senegalese side while maintaining the country's status among Africa's leading football nations.

The appointment would mark Vieira's return to international management and his first major national-team role since beginning his coaching career.
