Plateau United Chairman, Mallam Alhassan Yakmut, has denied reports that the club has officially rebranded its logo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Yakmut described the issue surrounding the purported new logo as controversial, insisting that he was not aware of any approved decision to change the club’s emblem.

Speaking on the development, the Plateau United chairman said he would refrain from making further comments until he meets with Plateau State Governor to establish whether clearance had been granted for the reported rebranding.

“That logo thing is still controversial because I am not aware of it. I don't want to make any comments until I see the governor to confirm if he gave the clearance,” Yakmut stated.

The development has therefore cast uncertainty over the reported change, with the club’s management yet to officially confirm the adoption of a new logo.

Further clarification is expected after Yakmut’s meeting with the state governor.
