Port Harcourt to Host NBBL Final 8 For Fourth Straight Year

Port Harcourt, Rivers State, will host the Final 8 of the 2026 Nigeria Premier Basketball League for the fourth consecutive year following a slight adjustment to the competition schedule by the League Management Committee of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Phase 3 playoffs will now take place from August 29 to September 6, 2026, at the Indoor Basketball Stadium, 59 Niger Street, Port Harcourt Township.

The eight-team tournament will be played on a round-robin basis, with four teams qualifying from the Atlantic Conference and four from the Savannah Conference.

Representing the Atlantic Conference are Rivers Hoopers, Maktown Flyers, Hoops & Read and Lagos Raptors, while Aso Sky Hawks, 313 Warriors, Gboko City Chiefs and Kano Pillars will represent the Savannah Conference.

Port Harcourt has established itself as a regular host of the league's decisive phase, with the Rivers State capital once again set to welcome the country's top basketball teams.

The continued hosting of the Final 8 in Port Harcourt is expected to bring the action closer to basketball fans in the city and further promote the sport in the region.

The 2026 Final 8 will determine the champions of the Nigeria Premier Basketball League after an intense season across the two conferences.
